Few Signs of Not Being Able to Get Pregnant

Starting a family can be one of the most rewarding experiences in your lifetime. Unfortunately, life and our body’s limitations sometimes get in the way. Trying to get pregnant and then finding out month after month that you aren’t can be disheartening. Before you spend hours worrying about infertility, we wanted to give you some signs of not being able to get pregnant.

Best Time to Get Pregnant

First thing is, you need to start tracking your cycle. If you know when your period happens each month you can figure out when you are ovulating. Ovulation usually occurs 5 to 7 days before you get your period. After about two months of tracking your cycle, you should be able to find out when you are ovulating.

Knowing when you are ovulating is one of the best ways of increasing your chance of pregnancy. After an egg is released during ovulation, it lives for about 24 to 48 hours. This is the optimum time to try to get pregnant. Successfully hitting this window may take a few tries, but it is totally possible.

Getting Pregnant in Your 30s

Age is also a huge factor in being able to get pregnant. When you are in your early 30s, the likelihood of being able to get pregnant is only slightly lower than when you are in your 20s. But once you turn 35, your chances of becoming pregnant start to decrease quickly. Additionally, the chance of having a miscarriage or a baby with a developmental disorder goes up.

While it is entirely still possible to get pregnant in your 30s, it is important to do it sooner rather than later. This is especially true if you want to have multiple children. The sooner you start trying to get pregnant, the more successful you will end up being.

Infertility: Signs of Not Being Able to Get Pregnant

InfertilityWhile it is not a fun thing to talk about, there are some common causes of infertility that can lead to not being able to get pregnant. There are a few things that can cause infertility in women: age, smoking, excess alcoholic drinking, stress, a poor diet, weight, sexually transmitted diseases, and hormonal imbalances like PCOS.

Infertility is becoming slightly more common but there are some ways to identify it. Keep in mind that none of these signs confirm that you are infertile. Going to a doctor is the only way to know for sure. It is important to keep this in mind so you do not jump to conclusions. That being said we do have a few signs that can point to possible infertility.

So, how can you tell if you are infertile?

The first thing you should look at is your menstrual flow. If it has become irregular or has all of the suddenly gotten way heavier, you could be infertile. If your periods have stopped altogether or have become incredibly painful, that could also be a sign that you are becoming infertile. Other signs of infertility include sudden outbursts of severe acne, hair loss, unexpected hair growth, weight gain, and a suddenly increased sex drive.

Again, it is important to mention that these are just some signs that you could possibly be infertile. Having some slight irregularity in your period, hair loss, weight gain, and new acne could also be signs of stress. Because of this, you should go to a doctor if you suspect you are infertile so they can evaluate you and provide potential treatment options.
